Advancing Data Sovereignty and Secure AI for Responsible Innovation
I was honoured to join the panel at the Accelerated: Canada’s Semiconductor Symposium 2025 in Vancouver, where we engaged in important conversations around data sovereignty, security, and responsible innovation. Over two days, the symposium brought together leaders from across Canada’s microelectronics, quantum, and semiconductor ecosystem for thoughtful and forward-looking discussions.
A recurring theme across many panels—including Building a Resilient Canada—was the critical need for a vertically integrated supply chain. From R&D and fabrication to advanced packaging and commercialization, Canada’s long-term competitiveness will depend on our ability to build strong end-to-end capabilities and accelerate technology adoption.
These discussions strongly resonated with the work we do at Spica, where we transform data through our AI platform into secure, meaningful intelligence. From managed services to groundwater, environmental, and solid–liquid waste monitoring, we enable sustainable, data-driven decisions—grounded in strong processes, control, and security.
The conversations also closely align with the work we champion at MICA, supporting innovators, strengthening industrial readiness, and accelerating commercialization across Canada’s critical industries. It was inspiring to see national partners, superclusters, and innovation networks coming together to build a more resilient and collaborative future.
Thank you to CMC Microsystems for the invitation and for hosting such an impactful event. I’m proud to bring these insights back into the work we do every day.
