Explores the Future of Automated and Sustainable Farming at Havengreens
Last weekend, I had the opportunity to tour Havengreens, a fully automated greenhouse in King City, Ontario, alongside Filip Bidzinski and his team. The visit offered a fascinating look at how advanced automation is transforming agriculture—from climate control and nutrient delivery to maintaining consistent quality and exceptional taste in every harvest.

What stood out most was the convergence of sustainability, technology, and agriculture. By leveraging edge-based data processing, Havengreens enhances security and data sovereignty while enabling growers to make optimized decisions locally. This approach reduces reliance on cloud infrastructure and lowers energy consumption, demonstrating how responsible innovation can drive efficiency without compromising sustainability.
It was truly inspiring to see the future of farming in action and how automation can help us grow smarter, reduce waste, and build a more resilient food ecosystem. Many thanks to Netwalking Toronto and its founder Natalia Fedorova for coordinating this insightful visit and creating a wonderful opportunity to learn and engage.
